Need good neurologist in Memphis, TNPosted by Janice Scott in health care |
I live in Memphis, TN and having serious trouble finding a Neurologist who is worth anything! My daughter has complex migraines and we have been to at least 4 dr and talked to at least 3; and so far, nobody is giving us any hope.
Anybody there who has great doctor and have names for us to stay away from?
thanks,

2009-09-1909:49:06 I have seen several doctors at the Neurologist Clinic in Cordova, Tennessee. By far, Barbara Cape O'Brien is the best you will find. She is extremely patient and very understanding of your problems.
2009-07-0506:26:44 I saw Dr Henderson in Knoxville, Tn for 4 years - until he moved to Memphis. I can't find a neurologist now that can live up to the standard of care he provided. He looked at the whole picture, not just the problem he was treating and gave me enough info to make informed decisions to manage my own care. I have even considered driving to Memphis since my "disease" is chronic!!
2009-06-1507:26:18 I have seen Dr. Arnold previously, and had a very pleasant experience with him. However, I have returned to his office after several years and now have a FABULOUS new doctor in that office. Her name is Dr. Barbara Cape-O'Brien. I have seen over 20 doctors since my accident in 2004, and by far she is the most attentive, knowledgeable and attentive neurologist I have been treated by. I highly recommend Dr. Cape-O'Brien to anyone. FYI I have had chronic neck pain and a persistent migraine-like headache for over five years, and Dr, Cape-O'Brien has helped me get to a place that I can at least get out of bed most days.
2009-06-0315:51:25 I like felicia Knowles and Don Eastmead. J.T. Jabbour is very good too but can come across as somewhat condescending. Good luck.
2009-06-0102:35:22 I fully understand your frustration with finding a "good" neurologist in Memphis. My third and current neurologist office is the Neurology Clinic at 8000 Centerview Parkway Suite 300, Cordova (right exit off Germantown Road North just south of Walnut Grove exit). They have several doctors there, and they have the equipment and facility to perform several special tests and a lab for various testing. The first doctor I had has retired, and I was passed on to Dr. Thomas Arnold. Because he developed a habit of being late and I have more to do than sit and wait a minimum of 1 and up to 2+ hours for a doctor, I changed doctors last month. I saw Dr. Kendrick Henderson on May 18, and I really like his manner and the way he asked questions to analyze my problems.
So, I am recommending Dr. Henderson, though as you can see I have seen him only once. (Avoid Dr. Arnold!)
I wish you the very best in your effort to find a good neurologist to treat your daughter.
